Fool's Errand Development

Privacy Policy

This policy applies to games and apps published by Fool's Errand Development, including Flock.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Overview

Fool's Errand Development is the game and app publishing name used by Sean Lauren. I make small games and creative projects, and I try to keep them simple from a privacy standpoint.

The games covered by this policy do not require an account, do not show third-party ads, do not sell personal information, and do not intentionally collect personal or sensitive user data such as precise location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera images, health data, or financial information.

Information the games may use

Some games may save ordinary gameplay information on your device, such as settings, scores, progress, selected options, or similar local preferences. This information is used only to make the game work and remember your choices.

If a game later includes online multiplayer, leaderboards, cloud saves, feedback forms, or other online features, the game may collect the information needed for those features, such as a display name, game room code, score, or submitted game content. Any such feature will be used only to provide the feature being requested.

Website and hosting data

If you visit a web version of a game or a related website page, the hosting provider may automatically process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, date and time, and basic diagnostic logs. This information is used for security, performance, troubleshooting, and keeping the site available.

Analytics, ads, and third parties

The games covered by this policy do not use third-party advertising SDKs and do not sell or rent user data. If basic analytics are used on a related website, they are used to understand whether pages load and how the site is being used at a general level.

Games built with third-party tools, engines, app stores, or hosting providers may be distributed through services such as Google Play, Unity, Vercel, Cloudflare, or similar infrastructure providers. Those providers may process technical data according to their own policies when they deliver, host, review, or run the app or website.

Data sharing

I do not sell personal information. I may share limited technical information only with service providers that help operate, host, distribute, secure, or troubleshoot the games and related websites, or if required by law.

Security

I use reasonable measures to keep games and related websites secure. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but the intent is to collect as little user data as practical and limit access to what is needed to operate the games.

Retention and deletion

Local gameplay data stored on your device remains there until you delete it, clear app data, uninstall the app, or use an in-game reset option if one exists.

If you contact me or submit information through an online feature, that information may be retained as long as needed to respond, maintain the service, resolve issues, or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of information you provided by using the contact method below.

Children's privacy

The games are intended for general audiences unless a specific store listing says otherwise. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact me so I can review and delete it if appropriate.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as games and features change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date above.
